About the Author
Michelle Harvey is on a mission to change the way kids learn about money—starting from the very beginning. As a mom, author, and passionate financial literacy advocate, she recognized a major gap in early education—money lessons were often delayed until high school, long after financial habits had already formed. Determined to make a difference, she created ABCs of Finance Coloring Book for Preschoolers. After that, the Spanish companion, El ABCs de las finanzas was born. Her latest debut is A is for Asset: Adventures in Financial Letteracy—a fun, engaging, and story-driven way to introduce essential money concepts to young learners.
Her belief? Children who understand money early grow into financially confident, capable adults.
A Vision for Financially Empowered Kids
Through storytelling, cartoons available on YouTube, and dynamic author visits, Michelle makes financial literacy accessible and fun for children as young as three. With her unique approach, kids meet talking letters of the alphabet, each representing an important financial concept—A for Asset, B for Business, C for Credit—helping them build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong financial foundation.
Her work is more than just books—it’s a movement. Michelle is dedicated to equipping educators, parents, and school communities with engaging tools, curriculum-aligned resources, and real-world strategies that make financial education part of everyday learning.

With a background in education, business, and nonprofit leadership, Michelle has spent years developing programs that empower families and communities. As the founder of Financial Letteracy, Inc., she’s dedicated to bringing high-quality, engaging financial literacy tools to classrooms, libraries, and homes nationwide.

When she’s not writing or speaking, you’ll find her connecting with educators, inspiring young readers, and creating innovative ways to bring financial literacy to life.
